Dr. Piper drinks half her body weight in ounces of electrolyte water every day. She makes sure her pH is in the “green range” and eats a mostly alkaline diet. She walks thirty minutes a day to improve the health of her lymphatic system (aka the doctor within). And she eats as much healthy organic food as possible because she isn’t a fan of chemicals and pesticides.But Dr. Piper is a huge fan of organic skincare and cosmetics. She knows we absorb roughly 60% of what we put on our skin so she thinks using organic skincare is just as important as eating an organic diet.
Aunt Alfa’s favorite holistic remedy in the world is aromatherapy. She’s been an aromatherapist for over seventy years and has her own essential oil line. She loves essential oils for reducing stress and improving emotional well-being.
Dr. Piper’s wellness clinic is located in the fictional town of Sea Spray, Maryland, and is called Health Nuts Rock… Pop Out of Your Shell! She developed an awesome wellness presentation about the elements of living a healthy life, which she based on her Health Nuts Rock acronym. Here are her notes:
H ydration (Drink half your body weight in ounces of electrolyte water daily, however, Dr. Piper recommends 12 glasses maximum. So if you weigh over 288 pounds, 12 glasses would be your maximum daily water intake. This includes teas too.)
E limination (It’s important to have a good bowel movement daily before noon, which is when the body’s circadian rhythm for elimination ends.)
A cid alkaline balance (aka pH balance – buy some pH paper and test yourself. If you’re too acidic, start eating a mostly alkaline diet until pH improves.)
L ymphatic exercise daily (The lymphatic system is your “doctor within” so improve its health by walking 30 minutes a day.)
T rain your muscles (Do a light strength training routine 2-3 times a week for 30 minutes to improve strength, reduce body fat, and maintain bone health.)
H appy Factor (Stay positive! Always turn a calorie consumed into a calorie burned! Dr. Piper can’t emphasize this enough because thoughts have power so make them good!)
N o dairy, beef, or sugar (Moo-food is mucous forming plus it makes Dr. Piper’s skin break out! Sugar’s acidic and can wreak havoc in our bodies. Dr. Piper loves low glycemic index coconut sugar and does all her baking with it!)
U p your greens intake! (Take a shot of wheat grass – amazing stuff!! – or a serving of Spirulina or greens powder daily. Fresh wheat grass juice is best, but if you can’t get any then buy some fabulous Spirulina or greens powder. Also eat a lot of organic green veggies. Your body will thank you!)
T ake responsibility for your health (No one else can do this but you! Emerson said, the greatest wealth is health.)
S leep and S pirituality (The “two S’s!” Get at least 5 hours of sleep by 4AM, which is when the body’s circadian rhythm for deep healing sleep ends. And get connected spiritually to God, the Universe, or whatever feels right for you. The power of prayer and positive intention are amazing!)
R adiation (Invest in reliable EMF/radiation protection. We’re bombarded daily from computers, cell phones, laptops, ereaders, televisions, etc. Dr. Piper thinks the best possible radiation defense is the Bio Electric Shield. You can research it online.)
O rganic diet and skincare (Don’t put chemicals or pesticides either on or in your body. And be sure to use green-cleaning products like Seventh Generation too.)
